According to a report that was produced by WISE, in 2015 only 14.4% of the UK's STEM workforce were female. This makes it far harder for female University students to receive advice from friends, peers and role-models within their chosen industry. The team behind STEM Graduates has therefore launched a sister site, STEM Women. Our aim is to produce engaging content that can inspire female students. We are keen to encourage female graduates to share their experiences and become part of a wider network.
We work with a number of graduate employers who are keen to promote gender diversity and would like to receive an equal number of male and female applications to their graduate schemes. Our site enables you to search for vacancies with named employers.
We are pleased to introduce our STEM Women community to other companies and organisations that are producing interesting content and organising events. Our resources pages highlight organisations, bloggers and video channels that are likely to be of interest.
Our marketing team produces inspiring content and comments on industry news. You can read about the achievements of famous female STEM alumni and follow current stories in our articles and news section.
We have filmed recent STEM graduates who are currently in work. We have asked them to describe how they conducted their job search and the tactics that worked for them. They have also outlined their current role and we hope that you are inspired by their videos.
We have a large selection of content and advice that we upload to our sister site, www.stemgraduates.co.uk. Our Careers Advice Hub contains content that includes career insights, employer comparisons, application advice and interview tips.
