To celebrate the end of another fantastic autumn season of events, we wanted to look back on some of the highlights! From inspiring panel sessions to insightful speaker presentations, record numbers of job applications, and amazing feedback, the 2021 season was one of our best yet.
We hosted eight fantastic virtual events, introducing a staggering 6,961 students and recent graduates to 109 top STEM employers. Each of our events combined virtual networking, employer insight talks, skills sessions and panel discussions.
Employers and students had a total of 7,822 conversations, sending 31,361 chat messages, and attendees submitted 2,250 job applications over the course of all of our events!
Financial Services Industry Careers Event, sponsored by NatWest Markets
Wednesday 7th September
Our first event of the autumn season was our Financial Services Industry Event, the third successive event of its kind. This was a truly inspiring day, with attendees looking to network with 11 top exhibitors from the financial services industry. These included our sponsors NatWest Markets, Baillie Gifford, Barclays, Bloomberg, Chartered Insurance Institute, GIC, Jane Street, London Business School, NFU Mutual, PwC and Swift. During the day, attendees and employers had 547 conversations, sending 4,069 chat messages. There were also 216 job applications and during the live presentations we had a peak audience of 284. This was our largest Financial Services Event to date with a record 891 sign-ups.

Technology Industry Careers Event sponsored by Bloomberg
Wednesday 15th September
Following the huge success of our Technology Graduate Careers Event last autumn and in April 2021, we did it all again! Our Technology Industry Event was sponsored by Bloomberg and attracted 940 sign ups! The attendees were all looking to network with 19 top employers, apply for roles and opportunities, listen to live talks and inspiring panel sessions, and learn more about the application processes. Our technology event was great for both attendees and employers to continue building a gender balanced future for the technology industry in the UK. Attendees and employers had 1,164 conversations, sent 5,340 chat messages and during the live presentations we had a peak audience of 311! We had some amazing feedback from our employers and event attendees, highlighting how much they enjoyed the event.

Scotland STEM Careers Event, sponsored by PwC
Wednesday 22nd September
We then ran our Scotland STEM Careers Event, which featured insightful speaker sessions from Baillie Gifford, BlackRock and PwC. Attendees had the chance to network with 12 top employers via webchat, voice and video call, apply for jobs, and hear live presentations and panel sessions from representatives working in STEM. During the event, attendees and employers had 544 conversations, sending 4,163 chat messages. There were also 160 job applications and during the live presentations we had a peak audience of 185. Our attendees were predominately studying Computer Science, followed by Biology, and Chemical Engineering.
London STEM Careers Event, sponsored by PwC
Wednesday 29th September
Our London STEM Careers Event was one of our largest virtual events yet, with 1122 students and graduates signed up for this event and 30 top employers. During the day, we heard some great advice on the importance of being your authentic self in interviews and during assessments, and some tips on how to be confident. Over the course of the event, attendees and employers had a total of 1,213 conversations, sending 6,656 chat messages, and recorded 464 job applications. During our live presentations, there was a peak audience of 297. This event has grown from our STEM Careers Event for London and Home Counties last October, which saw over 860 students and graduates sign up to network with 20 top STEM employers.

Ireland STEM Careers Event, sponsored by Ball Corporation
Wednesday 6th October
Next was our Ireland STEM Careers Event, which was sponsored by Ball Corporation. This event welcomed 19 top employers to network with students and recent graduates who were looking for roles in Ireland. Attendees heard inspiring speaker sessions from representatives from Ball Corporation, VMware, 3M, BearingPoint, PwC, and Viatris. During our panel session, attendees learned invaluable advice about the key transferrable skills to highlight when entering into a tech role, how to deal with rejections when applying for jobs, and some excellent CV and cover letter tips. In previous years, we have hosted inspiring STEM careers events covering Dublin, the whole of Ireland, and an Irish industry-specific event for technology.

England and Wales (excluding London) STEM Careers Event, sponsored by PwC
Wednesday 13th October
Our England and Wales event was another large event, with a record 1196 students and graduates signed up for the event. This event was targeted to the whole of England and Wales, excluding the London area. We had 26 fantastic employers, including Alacrity Foundation, AquaQ Analytics, AstraZeneca, Atkins, Automata, Baker Hughes, Ball Corporation, Capital One, Citrix, Dunelm, Educators Wales, JN Bentley, KPMG, London Business School, Matillion, Nestle, Newton, nucleargraduates, PM Group, PPD, PwC, Rolls Royce, The Hut Group, Waters, Welsh Water and Willmott Dixon. Over the course of the event, attendees and employers had a total of 1,573 conversations, sending 5,455 chat messages, and recorded 349 job applications. During our live presentations, there was a peak audience of 228. Last autumn we held a number of regional-specific events for the Midlands, North West, South West, and more, this year we combined these into one.
UK Engineering Industry Careers Event, sponsored by Ball Corporation
Wednesday 20th October
Our penultimate event of the season was targeted towards students and recent graduates who were interested in a career in engineering. This was our first event which focused solely on the engineering industry and we are delighted with how it went! We attracted 834 sign ups and 14 top employers from the engineering industry. Our attendees were predominately studying mechanical engineering, chemical/process engineering and automotive & aerospace engineering. During the day, we heard fascinating speaker sessions and a panel session with representative from Ball Corporation, Procter & Gamble, Rolls-Royce and Honeywell. Attendees and employers had 616 conversations, sending 3,297 chat messages! Attendees made 371 job applications. Attendees could also watch live presentations and a panel session during the event, and we recorded a peak audience of 189.

Benelux Region STEM Careers Event, sponsored by Accenture
Wednesday 27th October
Our final event was the Benelux Region STEM Careers Event. Last Autumn we hosted our very first event for students, graduates and employers based in the Netherlands. This year we expanded to target students and recent graduates and employers based in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. Our attendees were studying a range of STEM related subjects, but predominately they were from computer science backgrounds, followed by data analytics and process engineering. We heard some very inspiring advice during the panel session and speaker sessions. Attendees and employers had 760 conversations during the day, sending 2,718 chat messages, and attendees submitted 69 job applications. We also recorded a peak live presentations audience of 179!
