We began as Investec Asset Management, a small start-up based in South Africa offering domestic investment strategies. In 2020, almost three decades of growth later, we de-merged from Investec Group to become Ninety One, an independent asset manager listed on the London and Johannesburg Stock Exchanges.
While our name may have changed, we’re still the same firm. We offer distinctive investment strategies spanning equities, fixed income, multi-asset, alternatives and sustainability to help institutional investors, those advising others and individuals navigate an ever-changing world. About the programme:
The Technology division at Ninety One is responsible for the delivery of systems and applications to enable the business to perform the full life cycle of an investment from Portfolio Management, Trading, Risk, Performance, Research and Client Reporting, all enabled via our core Data-as-a-Service strategy and dynamic Infrastructure.
The Emerging Technology Talent programme is designed to hire and develop the next generation of Software Engineers, and we invite students who are currently in the final year of their undergraduate degree, completing their masters or have graduated in the last 2 years to apply.
This 12 month opportunity will offer you a chance to learn more about Ninety One whilst sitting in either our Client Group or Front Office technology teams. During the programme, you will be coached by our software engineering teams and will be given day-to-day responsibilities, as well as project specific work. You will gain a real insight into the technologies that we use and the critical role that they play in supporting our business to invest for a world of change.
Who should apply?
Our Emerging Technology Talent Programme is open to students who:
- Have already graduated or are in their final year of university
- Come from a Computer Science, Software Engineering or other Information Technology related degree background
- Have a demonstrated passion for Technology
- Demonstrate participation in a variety of non-academic extracurricular activities
