This Insight Week’s a great way to broaden your professional horizons and get a feel for what a career in technology’s all about.
The programme runs over four days, starting in April and September 2020. You’ll gain valuable experience, learn about current projects, and shadow talented female leaders in our Technology teams.
About the business area
Technology’s crucial in how our business operates and how we serve our customers. Harnessing its potential is vital to our future and achieving our vision to be number one for customer service, trust and advocacy.
We work closely with every part of the bank to understand customer and business needs so we can confidently deliver cutting edge solutions.
Our priority’s to go above and beyond for our customers by delivering valuable, responsive and secure products and services.
About the programme
We created this programme to celebrate and promote female talent in our business.
You’ll learn about RBS, our vision and values, and meet with senior leaders to hear about their career journeys.
Over four days, you can look forward to:
- Taking part in team and project meetings
- Getting involved in an exciting Agile project, aimed at simplifying how we work
- Seeing the difference the right technologies make for our customers across different customer journeys
- Learning about some of our live projects and assisting with them
- Finding out about graduate and internship options and career paths in Technology
You’ll work with current graduates and shadow female leaders in different Technology teams so you can see the different kind of projects which are underway, giving you insight into our day-to-day work and our collaborative team culture.
You’ll definitely spend time with different teams and departments and you might meet some of our Software Engineers or Data Analysts, or you may spend time shadowing managers in Technology Security or Core Banking.
The week rounds off with an assessment day which includes a group discussion, interview and case study. It’s so you can show us what you’ve learned and for you to reflect on your experiences. If you pass the assessment we might offer you a place on our Summer Internship programme in 2021!
The Insight Week’s unpaid, but we cover accommodation and travel costs if you live more than 30 miles away from the office in which the programme’s based.
The programme’s open to all undergraduates studying STEM subjects, finishing University in 2022.
We’re looking for people with a true passion for technology and who want to develop new skills and perspectives.
We’ll look to you to show:
- An innovative and creative mind set
- Strong customer focus
- A knack for problem solving
- A willingness to learn and adapt
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
